Rules Of The Game

Playing International Dish of the Day is very simple:

i.     Take a list of countries...the one we found had 257.

ii.    Assign each country a number.

iii.   Use a random number generator to pick a number and so choose a country for the day (this can be done a few days in advance if you need time to prepare).

iv.   Google a popular dish (or dishes, preferably including the national dish) from the selected country and on the designated day...cook it!

Mum and I alternate days and usually assign countries up to a week in advance as some of the more obscure ingredients in some dishes require a trip into town for supplies.  Improvisation is allowed for ingredients that simply cannot be got for love nor money.

Incidentally, while we aim to cook a different dish from a different country EVERY DAY, the realities of life mean we aren't actually able to do it EVERY SINGLE DAY, so you will find this blog may skip a day (or several days) occasionally--please take this as a good sign that we actually do have lives outside of our own home and kitchen :)
